A tutorial for parental care on the ability of adaptation and survival
Live performance project on behaviors that tend to establish and disrupt equilibrium conditions.
A woman doubts her fertility. Perhaps she can not procreate. Until now she had not considered the issue. Just that an item does not function to destabilize the whole.
Compensate for the possible absence of a child. Taking care of those who, since he was born, is intended to perish. The ability to not generate another life, another skeleton.
Bones of cow, will be used during the performance as the emblem of the primary nutrients: milk. Meeting between body and former body. The one in the inert substance, the other incapacitated with respect to its natural functions responsible, meet, talk dumb.
A medical nightmare or an ethological dream: something in between
In ethology, the "k strategy" is the population dynamics based on the ability of adaptation and survival, it is the path of breeding and development that characterizes the mammalian (as characteristics: slow growth rates slow and some skill to create the conditions of equilibrium within their social context).
The bet is to start from a paradoxical subject: a mother turns on his computer, watching a tutorial that explains how to accurately and thoroughly clean and bath “your baby”. On stage she draws the same “parental care” act with the bones of a cow. A short circuit causes the unexpected difference between mimesis and reality.
At the same time we would like to elaborate in an ironic - parodic history of hysteria (one of the most refined and complex paradigms of the mind-body problem), a disease that once believed linked to reproductive problems, reconnecting to the "real " problem of alleged infertility of the performer on stage and creating an original choreographic score reworking extra-theater sources as ethology, such as Iconographie photographique de la Salpêtrière by doctor Charcot, or even like the thought of Didi_Huberman (especially his The Invention of hysteria).
As with our previous research projects, we work on different levels, so continuing the study to get to a "finished" work divided into 3 steps: photo project; video-art work; performance and theatrical work. For the stage performance usually we work in conjunction with a lighting designer and sound engineer.
